A SCENIC MOUNTAIN BIKE RACE across Kakuzi Farm and the Munyu Hills. Moderate to good levels of level of physical fitness with novice technical skills are sufficient, there are some significant climbs on stage 1.

  • Trail terrain is mild with a minimum of technical sections.
  • In line with true adventures, participants MUST be self-sufficient for on ride nutrition, a single water station per day will be provided.

A FUN MOUNTAIN BIKE RACE across the Kakuzi Hills. Saturday is a long stage to Masinga Dam  A low level of physical fitness is sufficient to enjoy Day 2. The venue is only 90 minutes drive from Nairobi, ideal for a weekend of family camping.

LOW ALTITUDE & SMALL HILLS you should be reasonably fit to enjoy the adventure of Day 1. If you are not well trained you might struggle. Day 2 is for everybody from age 8 upwards.

TRAIL TERRAIN IS SMOOTH, with no technical sections, suitable for all skill levels. Thorns abound so tubeless tires filled with an extra dose of sealant is essential (Stan’s is best). In line with true adventures, participants MUST be self-sufficient for on ride nutrition, a single water station per day will be provided.

GPS ENABLED SELF-NAVIGATION is core to all RVO events. A GPS is required by each rider (or team) on Saturday only.

GPS is not required for Sunday.

KENYA ROAD MAP is available for purchase from RVO; pre-loaded on a micro-SD chip ready for plugging into your Garmin GPS

SOLO RIDERS this is a solo event on both days.

MEDICAL SUPPORT a single ambulance staffed with a first aid crew provides support.

VEHICLE SUPPORT is not provided; only medical extraction will be provided

MECHANICAL  SUPPORT is not provided; please carry all spares and tools that you might require.
