RVO Malepo Hills 26/27 Mar 2016

RVO Malepo Hills is a 2-day mountain bike race within the Kajiado – Bissel area. SINGLE DAY registration is OK. A moderate level of physical fitness and novice technical skills are required to ensure one’s enjoyment.
TRAIL TERRAIN is fairly smooth with minimal technical sections. Vicious thorns abound so tubeless tires filled with an extra dose of sealant is essential (Stan’s is best). There will be a single water point per stage. In line with true adventures, participants should be self-suffient for on stage nutrition, mechanical support and extraction. RVO Malepo Hills is best suited to the inexperienced mountain biker that yearns for adventure.


Day 1: 70 km (approx) – Start 09:00
Day 2: 50 km (approx) – Start 07:30
100% GPS self-navigation is required
The only course marking is the start / finish line
2-person team event
Teams will start at 2 minute intervals in reverse seed order

Friday night meals are not provided
Please ensure that your team partner also registers online with their personal details. Solo riders will be accepted at the Race Director’s discretion only.


Wearing a helmet is mandatory at all times
Each team must have at minimum 1 GPS to share
Each team of 2 riders must remain together throughout the route
If at any point during the race team members separate by more than 2 minutes, a 1 hour time penalty will be imposed on the team (per infraction).
For any short cutting of the route a 1 hour time penalty will be imposed on the team (per infraction).
Teams will start at 2 minute intervals in reverse seed order.
A late start is incremental to actual racing time, punctuality at start line is critical
Team results will be classified by team category.
Buffalo Trophy to the fastest team with a combined aggression exceeding 180kg.
There will not be any prize money
There will potentially be fast moving cars and motorcycles along the race route
Rider discretion is required as the race organiser(s) take no responsibility for any accidents, injuries or death that might occur to participants and spectators.
