Bike Service
REPAIRS ONLY
The bike service team at race camp will be equipped for REPAIRS ONLY, just enough to keep you cycling.
  • Full workshop services are not available because the expectation is that you will arrive with a fully serviced bike.
  • There will be no capacity to service your BB / headset / wheels / hubs & freehub / etc.

    • TUBELESS TIRES
  • These are absolutely essential
  • Clean out your tubeless system & apply fresh sealant before arrival.
  • Tubeless conversions will not be available at race camp.
  • Tubeless sealant products DO NOT mix across different brands
  • ONLY Stans tubeless sealant will be available at RVO race camp
  • Bring your own supply of sealant if using any other sealant

    • GENERIC PARTS ONLY
    Only generic parts will be available for purchase
    Bring parts that are unique or specific to your bicycle such as:
  • Tubeless sealant (if not using Stans)
  • Brake pads
  • Derailleur
  • Derailleur hanger
  • Electronic components

    • CONTRACT SERVICES
    The most convenient option is to pre-contract for daily standard service package that will be provided after Stages 1-4.
  • 5 day cyclists book 4 day package (Wash & Lube / Gear setting / Brake setting) - KES 15,000 / $115
  • 3 day cyclists book 2 day package (Wash & Lube / Gear setting / Brake setting) - KES 7,500 / $60
  • Pre-booked contracts get priority services

  • Additional REPAIR & maintenance services will be on pay as you go basis charged at KES 3,000 / $25 per hour

    • FINISH CAMP
  • Bike wash & service will NOT BE available
  • Boxing of bikes must be done immediately after lunch
  • Bike box transport to Nairobi will leave camp on Friday at 17:00

  • Maxxis tires

    • Payment for products and bike services can be done with credit card.

    Contract is for 4 days or 2 days of service
    POST RACE BIKE BOX TRANSFER TO NAIROBI
    Lorry with bike boxes will leave final camp on Friday at 17:00 Bike boxes can be collected from:
  • Wilson Airport - to meet with your flight arriving from Maasai Mara
  • Runda - collection from Eric's house from Saturday afternoon
  • Other venue - Taxi charges will apply for delivery to another location within Nairobi
